Presento e vi spiego in questo articolo, l'utilizzo di CALIBRE.
Il programma è un "gestore" di e-book, gli ormai famosi libri elettronici che spopolano su tablet, smatphones e lettori vari.
E' assolutamente gratuito, di semplice utilizzo ed in lingua italiana.
Tra le principali funzioni del programma l'organizzazione dei libri scaricati ed acquistati ordinati per autore, lingua, formato ed editore.
Come vedete dall'immagine il programma ha una semplice ed intuitiva barra menù che consente di :
• Aggiungere libri
Cliccate edi inserite nel programma i libri presenti nel vostro pc, qualunque sia il formato, Calibre li organizzerà catalogandoli secondo i criteri sopra descritti.
• Modificare il contenuto dei libri
Cliccando su "modifica metadati" potrete cambiare copertina, titolo, nome dell'autore.E' possibile anche intervenire sulle pagine ed i paragrafi modificando margini e quant'altro ma lo sconsiglio ai meno esperti.
• Convertire i formati dei files
Cliccando su "converti libri" potrete cambiare l'estensione dell'E-book e renderlo cosi' leggibile su qualsiasi lettore.
Non tutti i formati di file sono infatti adatti a tutti gli apparecchi.I piu' famosi sono :
epub - il formato di file che utilizza Apple per ipad e iphone
mobi - il formato che utilizza Amazon per il suo Kindle
pdf - questo formato lo potete leggere con tutti i reader ma l'esperienza di lettura è limitata (la pagina non si adatta alla grandezza dello schermo, la lettura risulta più difficoltosa ed il libro non risulta "interattivo")
Come da immagine cliccate su "modifica libri" e vi si aprirà la rispettiva schermata.Selezionate il formato di output a seconda del reader che possedete e cliccate ok.
Questione di secondi per avere il vostro libro leggibile su ipad, kindle, iphone e molti altri.
• Leggere i libri
Potere leggere direttamente da pc i files archiviati cliccando su "leggi libri", si aprirà una schermata di lettura identica a quella del vostro tablet o kindle, con tutte le opzioni del caso, dal segnalibro alla grandezza dei fonts, dall'indice alla possibilità di evidenziare parole e paragrafi e cercarne il significato e l'etimologia.
• Acquistare libri
Potete comprare libri online cercandoli sul database di siti che Calibre vi mette a disposizione.
• Leggere le notizie
Scaricate i feed di notizie dai più famosi giornali online e blog.Programmate i download per avere sempre le notizie fresche pronte da leggere dove volete o stampare.
• Rimuovere libri
Cancellate i libri che non vi interessano più evidenziandoli e cliccando su "rimuovi libri".
In conclusione Calibre si presenta come un ottimo tool per chi ha intenzione di cimentarsi con la lettura degli E-books, sia per chi vuole organizzarli in una libreria virtuale, per chi necessita di convertirli per leggerili su diversi dispositivi che per chi ne deve creare di nuovi, partendo dai propri documenti di testo.
